View Full Version : I guess GM was planning on offering a NAV for the G8

Look what I found on the part list: A NAV option for the G8. Looks like a DVD player in the glove box, an antenna (why if we have onstar GPS module???) a module attached to the front foot well cover and a harness.:poof:
The only items with a part # are the harness and antenna:notworking:

This means that with the right hardware and software one could display NAV info on our infotainment display.

It's not a touch screen, is the Holden version a touch screen or does it use the knobs?

The Holden screen uses the knobs and soft-buttons at the bottom of the screen.

Not a big fan of the on board navs due to the price, but sure would like to know more about that refit option!!!

I think the NAV option was dropped due to the screen being to low for DOT standards.

Yup, Federal standards kept nav from happening. The screen is .5" too low.

That's ridiculous, where do they want it, in the middle of the windshield like a lot of pinheads have it? I very rarely even look at mine, I just listen to it.
