Got mine today and they did a leak test. The cap looks different from the other not sure but it does. I have the pn on the ticket, need to run it to see if there was an update. Check engine light is out, hopefully not to comeback on.

I just had it ordered on Monday so I'll give them a weeks time and if no word back, I'll give them a ring. I'm surprised you got it so quick...seems like they ship G8 parts using tricycles and paddle boats.

Is there a TSB or something on the gas cap? I have gotten 3 CEL's in the last month, and after taking off the gas cap and retightening it, the CEL goes away. I do 2 clicks every time.

New cap says 3 cliclks. I always did that before. You need to get it documented with dealer. Should be able to do it off your computer history.

I've been having issues with mine as well. I always click several times but as soon as the light comes on it's loose as can be. Least I have the Dashawk to check and clear the code. Guess I'll see about getting a new cap then. If they are cheap I may just buy the new one so I don't have to go thru warranty. Could someone post the new cap part number for reference.

$9.57 at Monsterpartsonline.com, plus shipping and it clears it up right away. Not a problem since I replaced mine and it keeps the dealer from "snooping" around under the hood and in the computers!!

Got my new cap too. It's bigger that's for sure, and it has a warning about the 3 clicks or you can get a check engine light. No problems so far!

Had my first CEL-P0455 today at 3100 miles...Tightened the cap and cleared the code with a code reader here at work. Hopefully thats the problem and not something worse or I'll be makin a trip to the dealer.

I HATE my gas cap. I've never had so many problems in my car career.

Just get the replacement cap. It is beefier and seems to fix the problem.

Wrong. I've had a replacement cap, also different from stock, for like a couple months and it has NOT fixed the problem.

Re-tightening it will make the CELs go away, though. It took a while before I saw a CEL with the new cap, though. Maybe a month or so.

I'm coming up on that so we'll see if I get any more check engine lights. I did find my old cap loose after I knew it had tightened it, so it definitely needed replacing regardless.
I've got enough repairs to deal with, don't need anymore at the moment :)
