It looks like the track day I'm going to will be using a Pro Tree. Can somebody explain how it is different? Seems faster. Anything else?

After you stage all three yellow lights turn at once and then it go time.

Here is a site that lets you practice. It's a little cheesy...

Hit stage and get ready for the yellows to light up.

Any tips on launching with a pro tree?

A Pro Tree is .400 and its green and a Street Tree is .500. Just remember the tree is not a determination of how fast your car is, its a determination of how fast your reaction time is. Dont race the tree or the car in the other lane unless its for a trophy or $$. I tell first timers floor it on the last yellow! If you see green your late, but it wont effect ETs.

Treat the three lights turning yellow like you would the last yellow on a non-pro tree.

Am I incorrect about the 3 lights as apposed to the one light at a time? If so I apologize for mis-information.

You are correct on a Pro Tree.

Stall up the converter on the last staging light and as soon as the pro tree is fully lit whack the gas ;)

When you see the yellow lights flash GO. If you wait for green you will be really late.
I hate the PRO tree but that is because I am not use to it at all. It is harder to red light on that tree though I think.

Have fun! :D

Thanks everybody.

I'm just going test and tune day to see what my G8 will do. Being late sounds like it won't effect the ET so it sounds like i don't need to lose sleep over it.

Bypass water box
No burnout or just a little one the clear junk
Pre-stage
Stage
Torque Brake (1300 +/-100 works for me on the street)
Yellow on
GO

Ssound right?

Try to get someone to video your runs.

I'm wondering if I should get the rear camber changed from -1* to something more straight up for flatter contact with the track. Is -1* bad?

I dont think it will make enough difference right now to worry about it.

Charlie, you answered my real question.
I've been reading a lot and have an idea of what to expect. also, since what I'm most interested in is ET, getting a good jump on the light isn't critial either.

I see inexperienced people race the light or the car in the other lane. It doesnt matter! All that matters is getting the car to leave and make good passes and and be consistent on the cars temps for each pass.
