hey there guys. this questions isnt for my g8 but for my camaro. alittle info on it, 408ci iron block LS1 with copper head gaskets (getting replaced) and steal piston rings. motor is built for boost.

right now the gaskets are leaking alittle. she is drinking coolant. my question is will it hurt the motor( rings or cylinder walls) to continue to run it for break in miles doing no more than 20% throttle and lower than 2100rpms? or should i stop driving it until the gaskets are replaced.
thanks guys

Stop running it so water doesnt mix with oil and you dont wash the rings out.

i'll check the oil to see how thats doing. LME built the short block and a local shop finished it up. he told me the heads needed to be retorq'd after the 1st 2 heat cycles and that he would really like to lose the copper gaskets. well, i was hoping to take her on a cruise this weekend but i guess she's sitting this one out :( thanks for the info!!

i checked the oil and there is no sign of water in there at all. should i still be concerned about water/A-freeze scaring the cylinder walls?
