Yes. If it is easy for you to post a vid, please do. If the ice will stop falling from the sky today I will try to vid mine and get some pics of my truck install.

Yay! My first Youtube upload! And it's... dull. Oh well. Here tis. Hopefully this answers your questions. Sorry for the poor quality, my digital camera's battery was dead. This was shot this evening in my garage with my cell phone.

And now back to your regularly scheduled Jessika envy!

Thanks for posting that and the great explanation. Mine drops a lot further and very hard. Looks like another dealer visit in my future.

You mean you haven't removed it in further prep for making your G8 into a drag machine?

My glove box opens like yours so mine must be ok. It doesn't clunk when it drops so the spring mechanism must be working.

The spring cylinder has a little piece of nylon string that runs from it and has a loop at the end. This hooks over a post on the glovebox door. I noticed upon examination of the new box that the spring post was actually thicker than the old box. So hopefully it should be less prone to breakage. If you have an '09, you may actually already have the newer design. Failing that, you just may not use your glovebox as much as I used mine.

For weekdays the past year and a half, I'd drive the G8 to work and grab my daily essentials from the glovebox in the morning and then put 'em back after the work day. So it was getting a workout.

To answer the question of the OP, I opened the garage door, talked to it, petted the hood, and lamented that I won't be able to bring it out to drive again for 3-4 months! Maybe Mother Nature will be kind and give us an early spring!
