Changed the oil and filter, just another step toward the long winter nap.
If it's nice tomorrow, I'll run her down to the low fuel light several times and dilute what's left of the e85.
We'll have a few more nice ones, but we're running out of time.
things are not what they appear to be.....

Finally had a DOD lifter go at 47000 miles. Texas Speed and Performance is setting me up with a cam (220/230), dod delete kit, bigger injectors, and will port my heads after I send them in. Adding cog drive rear , one size smaller pulley in front, and bigger injectors, while the blower is off. Cam is just small enough I don't need more stall. It's gonna be SWEET!

How could you tell the lifter went....or was it obvious (e.g., code, etc)?

Noise. We're thinking it's a lifter. If not, it's a good excuse to do everything. It sound's like a pulley, or belt, squeaking. I was afraid it was a bearing on the Maggie wearing out. I took both belts off and started it up and it still makes the noise. It changes with r.p.m. It could be a rocker. It could just be a heat shield rubbing. I'll find out in the next few days. Having it trailered to the mechanic tomorrow. It just started. Hasn't thrown a code yet.

Finally had some sun today so I took the 8 out for a little run. Just out minding my own business on some farm side roads and a semi coming the other way gets to my front bumper and POP..throws a rock and now I have a f*cking nice chip about the size of a dime in my windshield. I might have drove it 500 miles this year and this shit happens. Was so pissed I just took it home detailed it and put the dustop on it. Will deal with this shit in the spring. End of rant..
