    Default Superchips Flashpaq

A recent article from High Performance Pontiac reported hp and torque gains from using the Superchips Flaspaq. Average Gains Over Stock were: 6.85 hp and 8.65 lb-ft. My question is this, and I know there are other benefits you get with this programming, but at close to ~$350.00 for this product, is 7 hp and 9 lb-ft of torque really worth it? You get that much from a quality CAI and Cat-back separately.

Yeah, I read that months ago (got the inside scoop).

Superchips did that interview before the 93 tune was released.

What is the hp and torque with the 93 tune? If you want to run pump gas you don't gain much.

I thought the 93 tune was about 10-12 hp?

I think most of the gains come from the tranny tune/tq management.

I think the gains are more with the 93, and they continue to improve.

I was told right around 18WHP/18WTQ on the 93, but I'll verify soon on the dyno.

BTW, I've attached a copy for others to view.

I bought the FlashPaq mostly for the trans tune, as I hated the sloppy shifts due to torque management. The other big selling points for me were the ability to flash back to stock anytime, and the free updates.

I have an old G-tech that I intend to dig up one of these days and compare hp between the stock tune vs. the various Superchips tunes, and with my home-made CAI. But so far I am pleased with the way the car runs, and I love the tire-chirping shifts (I have torque management turned off). I'm actually running the 87 octane tune right now since I've been doing a lot of commuting and it's nice to be able to use the cheaper gas.

Definitely worth the money to me. Picked it up on eBay earlier this month for $300 shipped.

Also used it today to check and clear trouble codes on a buddy's '00 Cavalier.

Which is what you can get with a similarly priced custom tune, paired with the added hp from the better ECM tune.
