The last time I talked to LIVERNOIS their tuning software didn't have the parameter needed to tune out my issue. So that and our cars weight are the two things that are going against it. Corvettes with the A6 and a converter don't have this issue because they weigh about 600 lbs less.
So I guess I need one of three things to happen
- LIVERNOIS gets an upgrade to its software
- I get my trans tuned with hp tuners
- my car goes on a diet and loses about 600 lbs

Why don't I seem to have this problem? Is it only with an aftermarket converter?

Doesn't have the tables for converter locking and unlocking?? Maybe we're talking about different issues?
When I first got my converter a WOT run would result in the converter locking and unlocking (hard enough to chirp tires) in second gear. I had to send it back to Yank to have it tightened from 3200 to 2800.
What exactly is yours doing?
As for trans tune with HPT, unfortunately not possible. HPT flashes both at the same time so if you have a locked ECM I don't think your TCM can be tuned with HPT. Might be a way but I don't think so.
I had to ditch the Livernois ECM to be able to tune my car again.
