Default Rear brake backing plate noise?

My GT has developed a noise in the drivers side rear wheel area. Whenever I hit a small bump, a clanging noise is coming from the rear brake area. I think it's the backing plate behind the rotor. In checking, I do not see any issue. Its tight, and doesn't appear to be touching anything. If I tap it with my hand, it makes the clanging noise, the left side does not make the noise. Any ideas on what it might be?

    Thanks,

bend it back a touch or remove it and see if it helps.

IIRC they remove with 3 small screw/bolts. I've taken mine off already.

    Miles

Any brake service done on the rear

    Aftermarket pads?

    Need some info

What you are loosely describing without any supporting information makes it sound like a pad slap condition to me in the caliper bracket, or pin noise/rattle.

Not recently, I replaced the rear pads about 2,000 miles ago, no issues.
I'm going to try Napalm's recommendation today.

    Ok, I figured it out!
The backing plate was slightly touching the rotor in approx., the 8 o'clock position looking at it from under the car, on the back side. I was able to get a small pry bar, ( pointed end of a hand can opener, LOL) and pry it away enough to end the noise. Thanks all for the advice.
