Default What is a good all weather tire or at least summer and wet weather

I still have the stock all season Goodyear tires on my GT and they won't even get a grip on dry pavement. Have got caught in the rain a couple times and you really have to be carefull. They had 11k on them when I got it and just turned 22k. I can't even get it out of the garage in the winter and get it back in if I want to move some stuff. It is factory stock at the time but with the traction control on about 1/2 pedal still get's you a little sideways from a stop. Although the traction warning just shows up while doing so. I heard at one time the Bridgestone was the way to go but not sure what model. Extreme contact? Maybe?

The rubber has hardened with age. Now-a-days I see warnings that come with new cars not to keep tires more than 5 years. Your tires are 8-9 yrs old. As a matter of fact, my 6 yr-old truck tires has 50% tread left but cracks have developed around the tread lugs. Gotta replace them soon.

I have the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3. They and the newer A/S 3+ version are near the top of the heap for all season handling but my tread wear seems high and I have a low tire hum from the rear at ~70 mph (the wife doesn't notice it). The newer + version supposedly has improved tread wear.

You know - you are gonna get a lot of differing input about tires so good luck on this one.

I have owned this car for over 5 years and the tires were the same when I purchased it. At the time a couple other G8 owners said the same. I just have not driven it that much but plan on maybe adding a little more power and getting some more use out of it. But Thank's

A summer tire will be a hundred times worse in the cold and snow, but they're amazing in the wet and dry with warm weather. Summer tires are BETTER than all seasons in the wet and dry as long as it's warm.

2009.5 MSM GXP 500ish N/A RWHP. Mods include but aren't limited to: Texas Speed 418 (6.8L) fully forged held together with ARP from top to bottom, PRC 255cc heads, Rick Crawford intake plenum, TB port, polish and tune, Roto-Fab 102mm CAI w/LS7 MAF, Kooks 1-7/8" headers wrapped with DEI, Corsa catless system, Circle D 3200 Stall, 3.45 final drive, BMR's complete street bushing kit and sway bars, Eibach Pro Kit, G-Force Axles, running on staggered VMR 710's with Bridgestone RE11 rubber. HSV triple gauge pack with Calais smokers kit mod, V6 tails, debadge/rebadge, V6 door handles, AU black door trim, Maverick Man under hood strut covers, & washer and bolt kit, fully corrected paint thanks to Adams Polishes and my hard work. Built with reliability in mind with some power for those times when you need to pass or go over a big hill. Just a poser, not a racer!

Yeah, a guy at work crashed his bimmer pushing his summer tires into the low 40s.

I do love the Michelin Pilot Super Sports my son runs on his AMG Mercedes (in California). But can't run them here in the NE where you can get night time temps in the 40s in September. My son says he can tell his Super Sports were getting slippery when he hit some cool weather away from his home area.
