When I plug my phone into the front aux it only plays the drivers side speaker. I can adjust it but it sounds like crap. Any ideas?

When I plug my phone into the front aux it only plays the drivers side speaker. I can adjust it but it sounds like crap. Any ideas?
Check the jack is fully engaged both ends. i.e. otter box in the way. Also a bad cable will do it. Years ago I had an iPod jack with a sweet spot at the aux port emd- try spinning a few degrees see if that’s it. Maybe dust bunny in the phone port
