Last time mine went to the dealer, I gave them my fixed key. They tried to sell me a flip key so they could do the recall! Lol. Why on God's green earth would I buy one thing just so you could turn it into something lesser before I lay my hands on it?

I just purchased a whole new fob for 17 bucks. new blank etc. I just took my old one apart transferred the transponder chip and my old key onto the new hardware and its like brand new again for 17 bucks and 20 mins of my time.

When I asked for the waiver to get them off my back, I was told that they didn't have it anymore.
Just thanked them and left. All three recalls are open on mine.
Wonder what would happen if a person left a car there for some other kind of work and left their flip key. Do they need your approval to address a recall issue?
