Default New battery in the flip key fob no nothing...

The key works but the lock, unlock does not work. I tried reprogramming it following the instructions on the dash and it does nothing? My other key works fine. Just seemed like this one had a weak battery. All I did was replace the battery... very frustrating. Any ideas?

When you program each fob do you insert that key in the ignition?

I wouldn't think you need to reprogram after a battery swap... Maybe one of the elec / bcm techie guys will chime in.

Did it do the same before battery replacement ?.. If so the carbon switch from pad to contact needs to be cleaned or replaced, otherwise take other good working remote first, insert into ign. turn on then off, then immediately insert the other key fob, on then off.wait 10 seconds then turn on problamatic fob again, let cycle through self test leaving key on, go back to program in dash to instructions, then follow again pressing both fob buttons when instructed, if you hear the beeps and then same results, contacts are dirty/faulty in fob

It worked fine untill I changed the battery. Put a new one in my tahoe fob and thought I'd put a new one in the g8 fob..

I have 2 fob /keys. The flip key is the one I replaced the battery. The normal key and fob work fone. The flip key works fine but the fob dosent do anything. I followed the instructions on the dash to program the fobs. The normal one will give the 2 beeps, the flip. Nothing..

If all else fails, put the old battery back in and let us know what it does
