31k. Use it for road trips and other non-shopping trips. Want to drive it more but .....

I would love to drive it for the frequent trips to see family 170 miles away, but it's on street parking there and the size of the G8 would have me pass up half of the few parking spots and then a common car accessory around there are those rubber mats hung off the rear bumper. Had the nose of another car pushed in twice down there and a suv with a receiver hitch mangle the front plate of another. Felt like buying a butane torch and cutting into the stupid tow bar.

My car would have more miles on it if I had to drive to work everyday, but I only go into the office a couple of days a week and I also try to avoid driving it in the winter when I can.

I look at it like this: I can afford to own a car I seldom drive. Sure, I drive it, but since I work across the street from a concrete plant, I don't drive it to work. My kids are 4 and 6 so car seats or boosters are still necessary and a PITA to swap over. I contemplate selling it all the time but it's paid for and I enjoy it when I get a chance to drive it. Right now, my life is busy with family.

Mods include but aren't limited to: Texas Speed 418 (6.8L) fully forged held together with ARP from top to bottom, PRC 255cc heads, Rick Crawford intake plenum, TB port, polish and tune, Roto-Fab 102mm CAI w/LS7 MAF, Kooks 1-7/8" headers wrapped with DEI, Corsa catless system, Circle D 3200 Stall, 3.45 final drive, BMR's complete street bushing kit and sway bars, Eibach Pro Kit, G-Force Axles, running on staggered VMR 710's with Bridgestone RE11 rubber. HSV triple gauge pack with Calais smokers kit mod, V6 tails, debadge/rebadge, V6 door handles, AU black door trim, Maverick Man under hood strut covers, & washer and bolt kit, fully corrected paint thanks to Adams Polishes and my hard work. Built with reliability in mind with some power for those times when you need to pass or go over a big hill. Just a poser, not a racer!

Same for me .. I love it when I drive it and its been paid off for a few years already. When you have other vehicles you can rely on especially on those shitty days/winter it helps with the miles. My G8 never seen rain or snow. I save myself a ton of money and mileage. Thought about selling numerous times..actually still thinking about it. But its one of the cleanest G8s in my state. Still people gawk at it all the time and ask ??s. Some (clueless) people think its brand new..lol I tell them it is.

You guys should a lot like me. The car has been paid off for a few years now and from time to time I think about selling it, but I really can not come up with a replacement that will not cost me north of $700 a month. The car still looks new and we have my wife's car for the kid and her booster seat. We are thinking about getting a newer used truck this fall so that will be my winter car and the G8 can stay parked when the weather is bad.

Around here (New England), its not how many miles, but when you racked them up. My G8 has never seen salt or snow in it's ~45K, and when I had it up on the lift recently to tighten the exhaust slip-fit joints up a little, the underside looked every bit as nice as the day I brought the car home. Of course, having a DD pickup truck allows the seasonal-layup, but what the heck, it's my car!
