    Default Groaning noise after rear brembo install

    I need help diagnosing what I would call a "groaning" noise that has popped up after I installed rear Brembos. The noise only happens when coming to a complete stop. It can be heard in reverse or in drive. There's no noise while driving or when braking while in motion (high speed or low speed). The noise only happens at the moment the car comes to a complete stop. There was no noise prior to the rear brembo install. Parts that I installed were new Akebono ceramic pads, new brake performance.com cross drilled rotors, new cts-v1 Brembo calipers, new parking shoes, new brake fluid, and all new hardware for everything. Initially I thought it was my parking brake needing adjustment so I took it to Pepboys down the street from me to have the parking brake adjusted. They adjusted it, but the noise is still there after they were done. The tech was thinking that it might be that the parking shoes need to bed against the inside of the rotor. I'm not so sure about this though. So that's where I'm at currently.

    Anyone have an idea of what could cause this groaning noise or any experience with a groaning noise after replacing brakes or parking shoes?

    On the suggestion of another member i went in my driveway and used only the parking brake to stop the car from around 2 or 3 mph. With only using the handbrake there is no groaning sound when the car comes to a complete stop. So if the parking brake isn't the cause of the noise what else might it be? Caliper? I have the same pads and rotors on the front and have no noise from them, so I wouldn't think it would be those particular items.

    Depending on the pad this may be normal.
    First try to swap the pads around and wipe with break clean.
    If that don't work. Clean and scuff the pads and rotors if it don't let up.
    I used 120 on the Rotor and 220 on the pad. Just a wood orbital sander works. Or you can do it by hand with a block. Just enough on the pad to take off the smooth and they will "break in" to one another again.

    This might sound silly, but make sure the bolts for the brackets and the calipers are tight.

    Are you saying to switch the pads from passenger's side to driver's side? Or just switch them from inside to outside within the same caliper?

    I have a friend who no longer has a G8. He did the Brembo swap before I did mine. I had already done the upgrade on my 1LE and I badgered him bout the TQ on his brakes he told me I was bothering him for nothing. Then he chased a rattle in his front end for a few weeks only to find out his bolts had backed out of his PSF caliper.

    Gotta make sure they're tight as hell. Double check the TQ I forget what it is but I remember something around 100ftlbs. It does matter.

    Let us know what you figure out.

    I was seeing a torque spec of 88ft lbs for the rear caliper bolts. Can someone confirm this for me or let me know if this is correct?

    From memory that sounds right. I think the fronts are 110.
