Alright I got the reader in. It works great and my tablet connects to it. The problem is I can't find an app that has an oil parameter in it. Dash Commander as used previously by the guy that used his tablet to cover the Atari gauges doesn't have an oil pressure meter. I also tried the Torque app and didn't find anything there either. Anyone have any suggestions or experience with apps like these that would have an oil pressure readout?

what device are you using - Ios or Android.

Supposedly DashCommand has an update that does oil pressure but it might be version specific.

You might need to spring for Torque Pro - depending on what you read - so poke around a bit more there but Torque supports it for GM. YOu might also need an add-on plug in - not 100% sure never used it.

If using a windows machine I know SCAN XL does it - as do both flavors of tuning software (EFI Live and HP Tuners).

your device has access to the info - and it's there to be had but your viewing app might not know what to do with it.

GTO peeps seem to say Torque works but I don't know the specifics.

Yeah I've been told the info is there. I so far just haven't found an app with the parameter to show it. I'm using a samsung android. I'm just glad everything is connecting and communicating so I can read codes and such in the future if needed. But I really want to be able to monitor oil pressure lol!
