I really hate not having an oil pressure gauge by the way. Kinda stupid offering it to one year model but not the other.

Hell could I just ad in an oil pressure gauge? As in are the connections already ran behind the dash and the Atari gauges just aren't there? Or would I have to run everything?

Yes, you can. I have an extra piece that allows you to use both the sending unit and to add an analog gauge. I'm not home until next week but we can work out a deal for it.

Can we monitor oil pressure from a scan tool plugged into the OBD2? Like if I ran the Bluetooth and used the torque app would I be able to see oil pressure? Or would I have to run a gauge?

Found and copy and pasted this.

Torque can provide oil pressure out of the box. Its working as expected for me through torque. Go to settings and "manage custom obd2 pids". Add the predefined set for GM. Oil pressure and oil temp are included in that set, both work fine on my 2015 SS. Oil pressure in psi is PID 221470, equation A*0.578.

Sweet thanks Ray. In that case I have a tablet that I can put on my dash and run the app to monitor stuff.

any OBD scanner will read most engine stuffs on the g8 - granted you had issues just scanning your car.

but like you showed BT, or WIFI OBD scanners work pretty well.

and IIRC there was a company that made a combi gage that was meant to plug into your OBD port. I forget which but I've seen one on a GTO - button selectable display, back lit - provide it power standalone - then plug to OBD port - let it learn for a sec and bickety bam - most gage sense info monitored by the car was available. Including battery voltage AND Current.

Swear it was an autometer thing but perhaps not.

side note - RAY what other g8 bits are you getting rid of?
