Default Keys will not manually unlock door

I'm having an issue where neither of my keys will manually unlock my door. Just spins and spins. I can only unlock doors using key fob buttons.

My wife dropped the key fob the other day and the buttons quit working. She thought no problem.. I'll just manually unlock it. Nope.. no go... She was stranded waiting for me to come get her and use other key fob to unlock it. Car starts fine with the keys.. but they will NOT unlock the door manually.

I've owned the car since new (March 2009) and have used the manual unlock in the past (but only once or twice a long time ago). I recently had the key recall done and wondering if the cut of the new keys is not quite right.... but.. if the cut was off enough to not work in the lock cylinder wouldn't it also not work in ignition???

I hate not having a manual way to get in any car so looking for ideas...

You can just keep spinning the key around? Sounds like the lock cylinder is broken.

    neither keys work.

In owners manual is states that spinning is normal if an incorrect key is used. But both my keys still start the car. They just will not manually unlock the door.

Has someone replaced the ignition cylinder , so now it doesn't match the doors? Or vise versa?

Nope... I've owned this car since new back in 2009. Only change was the keys were replaced under the recall a few weeks ago. They work to start the car.. but not on the locks

Bummer, sounds like the dealership owes you a replacement/explanation.
