Default Axle back options to avoid drone with ARH?

I have the 1 3/4 ARH system and would like to add axle backs but don't want any drone. The solo's seem too loud with these headers. I found lots of videos on youtube but no one mentions the amount of drone. Does anyone have this system with axle backs?

There is no drone using stock G8 GT mufflers with the 1 3/4" ARH system. This is overstating the obvious but I tried lots of different axle backs, including a mid muffler instead of straight pipes, which all led me back to the G8 GT mufflers.

I ran Solo Catback with my Kooks headers on my G8 and didn't have any drone. Loud is subjective from person to person.

GXP mufflers don't drone either, but the volume can be a little much on cold start and over half throttle for around town driving.

Are you talking exhaust drone or AFM changeover drone?

You can count on pretty much everything droning unless it has J-pipes, or is designed NOT to drone like the Corsa system is. There are some guys that have designed their own and reduced or eliminated drone, but it's a bit of a PITA if you don't have all the tools. I wouldn't trade my Corsa system for anything! Straight through design, mild around town, but hit the go pedal and all hell breaks loose! I don't run cats so mine's a little louder but it's still super tame. The only downside to the Corsa is the cost, but quality costs!

If you're just looking for mild sound and aren't trying to break the HP and TQ record, the stock GT axle backs are pretty decent!

Mods include but aren't limited to: Texas Speed 418 (6.8L) fully forged held together with ARP from top to bottom, PRC 255cc heads, Rick Crawford intake plenum, TB port, polish and tune, Roto-Fab 102mm CAI w/LS7 MAF, Kooks 1-7/8" headers wrapped with DEI, Corsa catless system, Circle D 3200 Stall, 3.45 final drive, BMR's complete street bushing kit and sway bars, Eibach Pro Kit, G-Force Axles, running on staggered VMR 710's with Bridgestone RE11 rubber. HSV triple gauge pack with Calais smokers kit mod, V6 tails, debadge/rebadge, V6 door handles, AU black door trim, Maverick Man under hood strut covers, & washer and bolt kit, fully corrected paint thanks to Adams Polishes and my hard work. Built with reliability in mind with some power for those times when you need to pass or go over a big hill. Just a poser, not a racer!

I think I still have my OBX axle backs with solo Js on them. Had them paired with ARH 1 3/4" headers when I had my G8.
