Thread: How would my car do against 2010 5.0 track pack manual transmission?

    Default How would my car do against 2010 5.0 track pack manual transmission?

    All my car has is the VCM, solo axle backs and tune.

    My friend wants to run and id think he would have the edge

    The mustang has the track package and axle backs.

    If he can shift you are toast, if he cant you have a chance

    Ok.. Now say I add kooks LTs and an X pipe with an updated tune?

    Current Modifications: Front end, Roof Pillars & Front top of roof has Clear Shield, Holden V8 6.0 Badges, Holden V Trunk Badge from Crazy Paul, UPR Catch Can, Corsa Exhaust & Roto Fab CAI. Spare Tire and Jack and Tinted Window's, hood scoops gutted, Poor Mans Heater Hose modification (holding up the hoses with zip ties), Painted the front dart to Panther Black.

    Patrick Guerra's Tune July 12, 2010: 345 HP, 355 Torque on 87 Octane
    Patrick's & Kurt's install of Kooks Long tubes 1 7/8" w/Corsa Connection Pipes
    11-3-10: 362 rwhp, 372 Torque and updated engine and transmission tune.

    New Engine as of 10- 5, 2011. Patrick & Kurt's tune and dyno 10-19 2011:363 rwhp, 365 Torque 93 octane.
    Sounds so GRRRR8 BECAUSE RACE CAR

    There was no 2010 5.0. Just saying 2011+ have the 5.0, 2010 had the 4.6. If it's the 4.6 I'd say you got it. 5.0, you will get beat pretty good. Headers and updated tune will pull you closer. A stock 5.0 will run around 12.7, with a tune 12.4 or less easy. No shame in losing, completely different car. The automatic in the 5.0 is far better than the auto in the G8, so I doubt you would fare better depending on transmission.

    Possibly of greater import, who is the better driver?
    2009 MGM GT: VCM CAI, ARH LT headers (no cats), Vector Tune, MT drag radials
    Procharger P1SC still powering the box it came in January 2010, hiding somewhere in the back of my man cave.
    PB: 12.533 @ 111.45 w/ 1.951 60' CLAIMING THE INTAKE/LT/TUNE/DR RECORD UNLESS SOMEBODY GOT GAME

    Race him and find out. I disgraced a 2013 Gt500 with my bolt-on GT at my last track rental. You never know what can happen.
