    Default 93 octane in GXP

Is it recommended to run 93 octane?

If you're not tuned, you can run regular 87 octane.

For some reason I want to say my owners manual states 93 for my GXP. Don't know for sure but since I'm not exactly stock and tuned I've been running 93 since 1776.

You got my curiosity peaked, so I grabbed the trusty owner's manual and snapped a pic of what it says. It recommends at least 91, but you can use 87.

Goes to show, when in doubt, RTFM.

I'd buy it as a daily driver if that's the only car you can afford, as long as the G8 is good to go. If you can afford a G8 and a daily driver then get a new M3/M5 as your beater...bahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh bootskies!

91 is the lowest I have put in mine, and then only because 93 wasn't available.
