Default broken wheel stud - covered under 6/100 major guard warranty ???

Tried to rotate tires at Discount Tire. One of right from wheel studs cracked loose, just spins. Cant get wheel off. Just took to dealer. I have 6/100 Major Guard with 1 month left.

Opinions on should it be covered? To me it's not a wear item or trim, which are only things warranty "officially" doesn't cover. Rep said I maybe torques it too much .... So a wheel stud gives up before a lug nut?

    Lugs were torqued to specs.

If they say no, I'm getting a arbitrator or whatever they are called involved.

Searched and didn't see any others having issue.

I blame it on metal fatigue, too many 110 plus Phoenix days...

    Opinions?

    Thanks
    Dave

I had the same issue a few years back. Dealer replaced it under warranty without any questions about it.

You arent going to break a 14mm stud by over torqueing. Same ones they use on 3500 trucks. More than likely the threads were crossed and and that caused stud to be stressed and break, seen it a dozen times.
