You already know this (i.e., exhaust / muffler sounds are a "personalized taste" - no right answer - only a personal preference) but DAMN these sound good to me!

    a) It's got a deep rumble at start and at idle. Not loud just "deep."
    b) If you open the door - you can "definitely" hear the idle difference (i.e., deep and with bass). Shut the door - and the cabin is quiet.
    c) At low acceleration - you can't really hear it too much (my personal preference - I didn't want it "annoying")
    d) At overdrive and at low speed with windows down (i.e., 45mph) I could hear the rumble (not a drone). Windows up - gone.
    e) At WOT - Raw Fury! It sounded great! It was the sound of a very pissed off small block with a muffled scream! Again - Pure Sex!
    f) I don't now how long the mufflers will last (not stainless) - but hell they were only $55 each.
    g) My personal preference -- this is a damn nice setup. That darn Patrick Guerra "nailed it" with this setup.

This is great Henry! I've been wanting to do something similar with a mid-muffler ever since I borrowed one from Rick for a few days. Loved it! Just a matter of time and money!

Ah yes! The golden rule! Casharoonies! This darn hobby "gulps" those "Benjamins" -- doesn't it?

Before you make a move -- let me get this new exhaust setup run on the dyno. In this way I can provide you with "pre" & "post" data from the very same dyno / very same car. Perhaps it helps with your decision making?

How do these vortex mufflers bolt in? From the pics, I see no flanges or hangers.

Go to a muffler shop. They have "all" the needed hardware. Very inexpensive as well.

If I recall correctly (it's been some time), they were able to use stock hangers.

    They have "all" that stuff.

If you do go with the Vortex - keep in mind that the outer diameter of the exit pipes on the Vortex are a bit bigger. The stockers will not work. The muffler guy showed me up close. Fortunately, my measures suggested that I needed something lightly larger so ..... I had a set of larger exhaust tips in the trunk with me. Got them on eBay - cheap too. Handed him the exhaust tips. He was finished in 10 minutes later.

This set up is louder, deeper, more bass, ........... Honestly, I get nice compliments from guys "routinely!" Lifts your spirits to hear that kind of stuff - you know?
