Default THAT Is A Dead Battery

With the move, work, and remodel on the new house, the 8 has been sitting in the garage. I was thinking to myself I should put the tender on it, but found the battery was already dead.

1.86 volts -dead. My tender refused to charge it, it's circuitry won't charge if it detects less than 3 volts. So, with the car stuck in the garage had to bring the future wife's Subbie up to the ass end and jump off the battery in the trunk.

Twenty minutes of idling later, and with my daughter revving the Subbie to 3K RPM I got my 8 to sputter to life. Idled for twenty minutes, drove for 10, parked it, confirmed it would restart, connected the tender, and letting it charge up.

Hopefully the cells will forgive me, batteries are EXPENSIVE!

With voltage that low I doubt the battery will come back to life. Usually anything under 8volts for non deep cycle will kill the bat

Yep it is dead. That happened to me last week. We had the battery unhooked for about a month while rebuilding the engine. We went to advanced auto parts and they only had the most expensive battery $178 after a few minutes and a call to O'reilly's we were able to get the battery for $134

I have a 'genius' brand battery charger. Works pretty well. Has a conditioning mode that has restored the charge percent on my AGM. I used to have 75% charge on the battery through engineering mode display. Once i bought the charger i thought i would see about the chargers claims of reconditioning. It's been over a year since i did it. Battery was initially 97% and then stablized at 92%. Still the same since. Still on the same factory battery.

How long does the "reconditioning" run for on that charger?
Or how long is it recommended that you should run it for?

My tender quit on me as well. Took my battery to work and it wouldn't accept a charge. Measured at 0.6V

Battery accepted a charge - although don't know if I would trust it after sitting for say a weekend

Its all microprocessor controlled. Depends on condition of battery.
