new keys

I bought two new flip keys and I have tried just about everything to get them to take to the car. Nothing works.
I read the manual, step by step. Nothing. I researched and did the 30 min. Relearn... nothing. I can get the fob to work on the car but as soon as I put the key in I get the engine immobilized prompt on the dash telling me to refer to the owners manual. Been working at this for months on and off.
My guess is that there have already been four keys programed to my car. Just looking for some input. Maybe you guys can help me out.

You need to program the old working keys along with the new one, then program the old fobs with the new one. Any fob not programmed will be erased. Are you sure the new key turns to all positions?

Programming the key:*

To program a new section (A):
1. Insert the original, already
programmed key into the ignition
and start the engine.
If the engine does not start, see
your dealer/retailer.
2. Remove the key from the
ignition.

3. Insert and turn the new
section (A) to ON/RUN within
five seconds of removing
the original key.
4. Turn the new section (A) to
LOCK/OFF. Section (A) is
now programmed.

Programming the fob:

To program a new section (B): Remote
1. Turn the ignition to ON/RUN with
the new section (A).
The vehicle must be in
PARK (P).
2. Select Remote Key from the
personalization menu.
3. Select Program.
4. Press Unlock and Lock on the new
section (B), at the same time,
until you hear two beeps.
5. Repeat Step 4 for all other keys,
including keys that require
programming or ones previously
programmed to the vehicle.
Any key not reprogrammed will
be erased.
6. Turn the ignition to LOCK/OFF.
