Yes it can be but you have to send it to Folcik to have that done. He is located in Connecticut if I remember correctly.

A note on these Alpine kits for US buyers - The reason they are programmed only in Celsius is because they are ONLY for the Australian marketplace. Alpine of Australia does NOT support these components here in the US. G8 Designs has had contact with some who purchased the Aussie Alpine setup, got them here to the US, and had compatibility problems, and Alpine of AUS would NOT provide them with any service or tech support, so they were stuck with expensive hardware they simply could not use, and could not find a buyer for. So, they were just out of a lot of money. It MAY work on your car, but then again, it MAY NOT, and you are out of luck on getting any updates or service down the road.

Further, Folcik will NOT provide any reflashing or service on Folcik controllers that come with the Aussie Alpine kits either (here in the US), because of their agreement with Alpine of Australia. So, you cannot even go to Folcik with one of these and get any service, because that is outside of their terms and agreement, and Folcik will not violate that. Again, you are out of luck in the US for this product.

However, The G8 Designs setup has advantages that the Alpine does not have. A) it is menu-selectable for Fahrenheit or Celsius, you have a choice of startup logo screens including the Holden logo, Pontiac logo, or car silhouette, and it works for ANY G8's in the US or Canada (base model single zone AC or dual zone AC), as well as any other Holden-based vehicles. B) it works with ANY manufacturer's head unit, with screen sizes 7" or smaller, so you are not limited to purchasing a pricey Alpine head unit, which can save quite a bit of cash. C) it costs less, at $650 delivered anywhere in the US.

Just to clarify. You used the Alpine bracket kit (Alpine PFK8-COMMVES1) and it CAME with the U.S. Folick HVAC control unit? Or did you source the Folick HAVC control unit separate? It was my understanding that this kit came with an Australian Climate Smart HVAC control unit, specific to Alpine and this kit.
