I wanted to cut down on smell so I purchased the magnaflow 59959 HFC's. I am having them welded in place of where the resonators were on the x pipe. I will keep you guys posted on how it works out for those wanting a cat setup with the OBX exhaust. The cats can be had at Advance Auto online with a $40 off coupon. $145 out the door + free shipping.

Couldn't you just buy a set of used kooks high flow cats and bolt them in place of the obx fake cats?

I know a guy that would have swapped his Kook's front pipe setup for your OBX.

Another note, it helps to put hose clamps on the trans mount hangers to keep it off the tunnel cross member.

I had issues with the fake cat piece contacting the trans mount bolts but I was able to fix it by just rotating that piece downward away from the bolts.

Rick, is he still interested? I have not done anything yet in regards to welding the HFC's in. It is scheduled for next week but if I can save money on a direct swap, I would go that route.

Only issue I had with the OBX setup was slight contact on the frame to passenger side header clearance and an intermittent rattle from the tunnel heat shield. The x pipe cleared everything else on back to the axle with adjustment here and there.

Magnaflow cats were welded in yesterday, cut down on smell quite a bit and tightened up the sound of the VT's. I'll snag a video over the weekend.

Is the pipe that it was welded to on each end 2.5" or 3"? I ordered a Maximizer kit, which is supposedly the same as the OBX, and was told that the pipe was 2.5". I'll be confirming once it arrives before ordering cats, but I'm curious if this is a difference between the kits.

EDIT: nevermind, I see that the OBX kit has 3" all the way to towards the end of X-pipe, whereas the Maximizer set is 2.5" right through. I guess I'll go with the 59956 cats.
