Default Want to visit Colorado? Here's your chance...

    Guys and Gals...

About three months ago I left my career and changed directions with my family. I took all of my savings and paid the down on a 20 room Inn in Estes Park. I've never worked in hospitality before, although I have a LOT of experience in retail and working with the general public in a customer service oriented environment. We closed on the property February 22, 2013.

Originally a five bedroom home built in the 1930s, the property was expanded in 1970 and named "Trappers Inn." In 2003 it changed ownership hands and was renamed "The Mountain Sage Inn." Those owners - two ladies - ran the location for the next ten years. Over the years, the property wasn't updated much... it was known for being overly plain, the owners weren't all that friendly, however the rooms were clean and simple. With that in mind, we've collectively spent a lot of time and energy remodeling. Almost all of our efforts have gone into the interior. Among the improvements... new Serta Plush beds (some of the mattresses and boxsprings were original... to the 70's... wow), fresh paint, crown molding, baseboard molding, custom prehung and slab Alder doors, new carpet throughout, a stone floor in the lobby, custom duvet covers (I didn't know what a duvet cover was before all of this!), new flat panel TVs throughout (previously 19"-27" tube tvs), new lighting, replaced six rooms ceilings to replace outdated popcorn finish, a mix of custom and bought furniture, moved/replaced outlets, replaced all galvanized plumbing replacing with PEX, and more.

All of that hard work is going to come to a head on May 1, the first day of business for The Maxwell Inn. We've already begun taking reservations - both from repeat customers and new guests as well. My wife keeps asking me to lobby for the G8 meet to be out here... but I dont think 20 rooms and no drag strip would cut it. Not to mention no casino! That isn't to say there isn't plenty going on here. Estes Park sits on the Eastern entrance to Rocky Mountain National Park, and has been an incredible vacation destination for decades. Most of the activity focuses on the outdoors - and there is plenty to do.

In order to "jump start" this year for our Inn, we have partnered with Living Social for a two day offer available in May or June... 2 weeknights for just $149, or 2 weekend nights for only $20 more at $169. You can see all of the details here. As an added bonus, any member of GRRRR8 that comes out gets a free 7-day pass to the National Park. Nothing would make me happier to see a couple G8's roll through this Summer.

    TL;DR
I bought an Inn, moved my family across the country, and want to invite the G8 guys and gals to come and stay with us sometime this summer.

edit: Those of you with Facebook, if you could "like" the offer, or share the offer, I would greatly appreciate it!!!

Congrats on the new venture. My wife is from Colorado Springs. Maybe the next time we visit the in-laws we can come up and check out your place. Although it would probably be in a rental, that's too far to drive in the G8.

Wow, that's a venture! Sounds like you've put your heart and back into it, and I wish you the best!

I think the only comment I would have, if I may, is on the website: you need some sample pics of the rooms!
