    Default BC Racing ER Coilovers

Has any with a G8 installed them yet? I just can't seem to find any info beside the BR series. I emailed BC Racing just to confirm they have the ER for the G8s now.

Really really? That'd be AWESOME. I was hoping they'd come out with these. Hopefully they don't require drilling through the body of the car.

EDIT: I communicated with a guy from AutoAgenda awhile back about the ER series. He said they might come out with them, but it'd be a while. That was probably 6 months ago. So unless you've specifically seen a press release or note that they're available, I doubt they are.

I found a post on the G8 board from I think last year saying they came out already, but no one relied to it at all. This is the email I got back from BC racing-

    Tony,
We do carry a set of ER for the 08-09 G8 part number ZB-03, please let me know if you have any other question.

I was thinking of talking to Maryland Speed to see if they can get them at a discounted price, but I have no idea what they are going for. I guessing $1300 or $1500 which still beats Pedder's supercar coilover price of $4K!! I don't have the money for this sort of mod yet, I was just doing my basic research/ lurking.

For those wondering what they are...

    8/10Kg/mm 2-Way Extenal Resevoir Pontiac G8 & Vauxhall VXR8
    Chassis : BC Racing SKU : ZB-03

ER Series Coilover : Type ER
    For Professional Track
    Specifications
Top Mount Type : Pillowball Front, Pillowball Rear\ER
    Front Spring Rate : 8kg/mm (448lbs/in)
    Rear Spring Rate : 10kg/mm (560lbs/in)

    Information
BC Racings premium flagship coilovers are the external reservoir ER Series with separate compression and rebound damping adjustment. The ER Series coilovers bring with them the high quality and unique features seen on the BR and RM type but have the additional benefit of external reservoirs and the ability to allow the end user to individually adjust and set compression and rebound damping rates.

The external reservoir ER Series coilovers allow BC Racing to increase the oil capacity of the damper unit. The additional oil capacity reduces peak oil temperatures which decreases variations in damping rates due to oil viscosity changes. The reduction in damping rate variations improves handling and ultimate on road and track performance.

... Yeah, so when I start modding the car again - need to figure all that out - these will likely be first on my list. Maybe. My tires are getting thin...

... Why can't money grow on trees?

I put HSD coilovers on my G8. They are for the Vauxhall VXR8 in the UK. I love them and bolted right on.

Looks like the HSD's are singly adjustable, which is a bit more like the BC Racing BR's or the Pedders Track XA's. The nice thing about the Pedders SuperCars and the BC Racing ER series is that they're dual-adjustable, so you can adjust compression and rebound separately. Gives you more flexibility to tune your setting.

... Of course, it also gives you more flexibility to get your setting utterly wrong.

Finally found something worth wild to post for once! Its pretty hard posting up a thread if it's already been answered. Mind you I have like a 4K post count on my grand prix forum, lol
