Back in the day of my finely engineered Volvo 122S, whenever I replaced the pads, I always check the seals and pistons on the calipers. It was pretty easy to remove the caliper and remove the piston to clean it. A little emery paper, wiped cleaned and lubed, and back on the road.

Should always do pads too when you do rotors.
