    Default Warped Rotors

My 09 GT will warp its front rotors after about 10k miles. Have tried OEM and DBA 4000 slotted with the same results. This is becoming a pain to swap my rotors out ever 10k miles.

I have done the searches on upgrading the front Brakes. Looks like SS Camaro or CTS-V are the cheaper way to go. Or just straight Brembo if you have 3k in spare cash. With the SS Camaro or CTS-V you need to swap your rims or add spacers (spacers are not really an option in my mind). Ultimately I would like to keep my rims (and not spend 3k) - so that rules out these upgrades.

Most folks say to stay away from drilled rotors. Lots of issues with cracks and premature pad wear. However I am debating the cooling effect drilled will have over non-drilled. My guess why the G8 warp's rotors so quickly, is they do not have adequate cooling.

Anyone running drilled and slotted on their fronts? If so, what kind of long term performance have you seen? Cracking? Pad wear?

I put 38000 miles on my stock rotors and had only some minor glazing before I gave them to another member.
I have DBA slotted and drilled rotors now. I have Hawk EPS pads and have less than 4000 miles on them. I have not had any warping of either set of rotors. I also use a torque wrench whenever the wheels are removed and replaced.

My stock rotors are warped. Its the 2nd time for this set of rotors. I am putting the DBA drilled and slotted on as soon as they are done being machined. (bought em used from devilish).

PS. I generally drive like a raped ape.

I rode with Jessika, and I swear I had nothing to do with the way she drives. Thanks for offering me the drivers seat.

Maybe the wheel lugs are getting over torqued. I believe that can contribute to warpage.

I don't want to drive someone elses car when I'm not familiar with the area. If it was near my house it wouldn't have been an issue. I would have swapped seats with you. I just appreciated the offer. You're cool like that.

The sliding motion of the caliper is designed to compensate for run-out or "warping". Unless you have a mother of a run out or the sliders have stopped sliding... the pusating is due to a hard spot in the rotor. Read here if you dare ......... and here is a doubledare

Did you just replace the rotors, or did you replace the pads too? Could be the brake pads.
