    Nice pics.

I am looking to get there but was wondering is there any way to install these without cutting into the car? Why do they need to cut into the trunk?

Just wondering because I have to drive in ice/snow and just dont want percipitation flying up into my trunk.

The hole you have to cut is on top and in the middle of the strut mount, when you mount it back up it covers up the hole and seals it off the only thing thatll show is the adjustment knob. Its hard to explain but theres a big cup that the spring sits in that covers the whole area and in between the lock nut is two big washers, the whole assembly covers everything up.

So it sounds like you need this because it is required to adjust dampening rate?

Yup, if you think you know what dampening you want you could just leave it with no hole but personally I've been changing around the settings quite a bit so I'd recommend the hole. It's not really a big deal, trunk mat covers the holes, strut mount covers it from the bottom...just takes 5 extra minutes per side.

Agreed, not completely necessary but extremely convenient!
