Alarm going off randomly...any ideas?
After turning off and locking vehicle, the vehicle alarm will sound off randomly as the title states. Any ideas as to why this is happening? everything else works perfectly.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you.

So the alarm will randomly go off for about 15-20 seconds, then it turns itself off. The remote start is also no longer working. I've checked to make sure all 4 doors, hood and trunk are completely shut. I've tried the remote start with both remotes. Lock/unlock work fine. The parking lights blip like it should just before starting, but it just never attempts to start. Anyone have any ideas as to what could be wrong?

Check engine light is not on. The alarm started going off randomly a couple months ago. The remote start only stopped working a week or so ago. I'm outside of my warranty and am hoping to avoid any expensive diagnostic trips to a dealer / repair place if this may be something simple. Any help on what to look for would be much appreciated.

same here - very very common with age.
either the sensor is broken - minor cost, or the hood stops need adjusting to reset the switch depth.
However - IIRC - if the hood switch shows open, when the alarm goes off - isn't there a DIC message Alarm activated Hood?
I know my GTO did that.

I'm not sure if there is a DIC message or not, as when the alarm is activated, it turns itself off within about 20 seconds or so. I usually don't get to my key fob in time to turn it off, let alone get inside the car to see anything. I've just stopped locking my car for the time being (no real concerns with where I work / live), but it would be nice to have the remote start work again before winter hits.
