Date: March 17, 2008

Subject:
Battery Logistics Connector MUST Be Reconnected After Shipping or New Car Storage - Radio, OnStar, Interior Lights and Remote Lock/Unlock Inoperative During Disconnect

Models:
2008 Pontiac G8

Supercede:

This bulletin is being revised to update the subject title. Please discard Corporate Bulletin Number 08-08-45-001 (Section 08 - Body and Accessories).

The new Pontiac G8 has a logistics connector to isolate certain circuits which may contribute to battery drain while the vehicle is in transit. This connector (blue in color) is located over the battery, which is in the left rear quarter panel behind an access door in the trunk trim.

The logistics disconnect disables the following functions:

^ Radio/HVAC

^ Supplemental Instrument Clusters in IP Center Stack Area

^ IP Cluster

^ Remote Lock/Unlock

^ OnStar®

None of these will function while the connector is disconnected. However, the vehicle will start and be driveable.

Prior to performing the New Vehicle PDI Inspection, dealerships need to connect the logistics connector to verify full electrical function. The connector may be disconnected for vehicle storage to help preserve battery state of charge. Be sure to reconnect this connector prior to delivery to the customer.

Connecting Logistics Connector After Shipping/Storage

1. Remove rear trim panel in the trunk. Logistics Connector (Blue)

Important: It is critical that the two parts of the connector are fully assembled until a "click" is heard. Pull with light pressure to confirm that the two connectors are fully connected and cannot be separated easily.

2. Connect the two mating connectors to energize the affected circuits.
