I know this thread is old but Using plastic fogs with hids over 25w will melt them eventually . I have come up with a solution for the melting fog issue though

I would not consider 5 days any length of time. I have heard of some using a shorter bulb and others have switched over the glass lenses, what was your solution.

Would love to know what you came up with.
Im needing all new fog lights because one of my backing pieces broke that hold it to the fascia. Was hoping to find the glass ones that would fit on my G8 but not having any luck finding which ones will fit.

Nice to see someone respect our forum prior to posting stuff for sale. Props man.
Send GRRRR8 a pm and see what he feels about it. I noticed you've been here over 2 years but never posted. Want to share why in a PM?
Rest in Peace Charlie!

I'm doing an HID conversion on my '09 G8 GT today and will be looking at what I need to cut up on the bumper to get the Hella 90mm fog lights to fit and play nice. I've done a 90mm Hella swap on my '94 Z28 where I cut away most of the factory headlight buckets and fabricated mounts for the Hellas. Was hoping not to have to do that much cutting on the G but I will try to remember to take pics while I do it. Going to try 5k 25W HIDs in factory plastic housings 1st and see how long they last. Want to convert to the Hella units as they are an actual fog light with a fog beam pattern. If I do manage to come up with something, I have access to to a 2KW industrial CNC laser so making brackets would be a cinch over hand cutting the ones for the Z.
