Congrats, you sure are going the hard way of getting to he 9's. It seems you have been looking for 3 solid gear thru the 1/4 for quiet some time. You must have taking that trans out down to a science. Since you are so good at it, just get a th400 for going to the track and making fast passes and drive on the 4L80e. Plus it will drop 100+lbs of rotating and car weight....that 4L80 has not cut you any slack....
Glad to see you faster but it pains me to see that trans still costing you a 9 sec. pass.

Run was with no 2nd gear on a 4L80... went to shift to second, flared, hit limiter, and then skipped to 3rd...

note: please change engine from LSX434 to LSX430... not a big deal... but just not correct..
hopefully in a 4 weeks or so I will have a new much improved time once I get 2nd gear... lol....
Yea its been painful for sure but the supplier has fully agreed to do whatever it takes to make it right... they have the car now and will fix it up whatever the issue and then prove out at track.... it should be easy to see if the issue is fixed as it never has held 2nd gear at track... street is awesome but track is a different story...
I dont think its a 4L80 thing, just a "RED X" they havent found that for every rebuild the issue isnt addressed..and is present in every rebuild... whatever it is, once found, it should work fine.. just have to find it ... ...
I agree the th400 is the way to go for me at this point... but not ready to give up yet... as I know when its right it will work fine... and I love the street more than the track in reality... not really a full 100% track warrior yet.. just everyonce in awhile...

This was from June when I last went to the track. Wasn't going to post it because it wasn't a very clean pass (car was spinning and had to pedal ), and started having throttle body slamming shut issues all runs following this. Car did go faster in the 1/8 mile two runs latter with a 5.901 at 118 but throttle closed and coasted the rest of the way to a 10.117 at 100.1 mph. Anyways here is my new best pass nitrous was pilled for 100 shot.

Thanks. And yeah I'm shooting for the low 9s or high 8s but I will never get there if I can't get it to hook up. Launching the car in second gear don't do it for me anymore. Looks like I will need to try the 15s and a better tire soon. Still leaving off idle trying to get the stock diff and axles to hold till I can go to better ones.
