To do the drivers side it is a must since the gas tank is so close to the bolt.

You loosen all 4 of the main frame bolts. You must support the frame when doing this. It would be a good time to put the Pedders or BMR rear frame bushing inserts in as well.

No. It can be done on the ground. Support the body on jack stands and then use a floor jack and a block of wood under the rear diff.

For the toe rods, I was thinking of loosening the drivers side bolt enough to just cut the head of it off. Then just install a new one from the other side, the way that the passenger side one is. Kind of redneck, but it would make the install much easier by not having to lower the rear cradle.

Not a good idea. It will put the end of the bolt almost touching the gas tank. They were installed like this from the factory for a reason.

Dang it, I hadn't considered how close the end of the bolt would come. It might be ok, but might isn't a good idea for the gas tank. Upon further inspection, Charlie is right...

Thats why I highly recommend doing the BMR or Pedders subframe bushing inserts at the same time. You will have the frame lowered anyways, might as well slap them in and get the benefit of them as well.
