So, is the opposite end of the J-tube that goes away from the exhaust tips just open ended? Sorry for the noob question, just never seen an exhaust set-up like this before.

BTW -- the reason it's capped is because it targets only the soundwaves at the g8-specific 1800-2000rpm range ... the troublesome sounds enter the J-pipe, hit the end cap of it, reflect back in exactly the opposite soundwave in the opposite direction (back down the J pipe towards the exhaust exit) which effectively cancels out the calculated drone completely. No exhaust gasses go into the J, just soundwaves.

It's amazing, I didn't actually know if it would work when I tried it. It's also adjustable (see clamps in pic) so if you add other mods that shift that drone range frequency (measured in hertz) then you can pull out or push in the "tuba" part, clamp them down again, and now you're drone free once again.

    Good times.

Just purchased these, should be here next week. I'll let everyone know how they sound.

What they don't mention in the first post is that you can get these with 3" or 3.5" tips. The 3" tips are welded on, but the 3.5" tips come unwelded so that you can adjust them just right before having someone tack weld them into place. I went with the 3.5" tips to fit the GXP diffuser.
