I am not sure what Chris has done here, but I had a similar unit on my G6. It worked through the XM channel as well. I did not have XM in my G6, only a head unit that supported XM. So this might be similar.

My brother did something similar with his iPOD in his TBSS. He integrated the iPOD via the vehicles' XM auxilary. His steering wheel controls work too! Pretty cool.
There is an adapter made for the TB. I had one in my 06 EXT. That one plugs into the radio and you splice into the data wire between the hu and the xm box.
